How to restore a lost OCO order

When you cancel an active order you can easily restore it, but it may not be so easy with an OCO order (One Cancels the Other).

Ok, let’s start from the beginning. Suppose that you have placed a bracket order with attached take profit and stop-loss. If you have no idea what I am talking about, please check here.

Then, after your order has then been executed you have an OCO order. This means that if the stop-loss is activated, your take profit is canceled. And if the take profit is activated, the stop-loss is canceled. What happens if you accidentally remove these orders? Do not worry, it can happen to do it by mistake.

The problem is that if you add again the stop-loss and take profit orders individually, both of them may be triggered.
